Background

The Mafinga Clinical Officers Training Centre is one of the oldest Health Training Institution in Tanzania. Initially was established in Iringa in 1973 as Rural Medical (RMA) running two year Certificate Training program. In 1977 the college was moved to Mafinga and continued training for the RMA until 1996. In 1997 college was upgraded to run for 3 years diploma programme in clinical medicine for pre-service students. Today our training institution is running three courses, basic technician certificate in community health, technician certificate in clinical medicine, ordinary diploma in clinical medicine. Currently we are plan to add two more courses the Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Laboratory and Diploma in Environmental Health.

Mafinga  is a leading centre of excellence which produce high quality health provider having self-generating activity semi autonomy and have a campus setting that is beautiful, welcoming environment for learning.
